Whether you're going out for a night of bar hopping or want to get a good dinner, downtown Tucson has a lot to offer as far as food and drinks. 4th is always great but today I'm staying on the congress side of downtown for these restaurant ideas. Don't rule out trying a new place on 4th of course but today let's take a look at three great places to wine and dine on congress.

The Hub

Coming here is certain to please everyone in your party, with a wide variety of new-American cuisine its a safe and tasty bet. The menu changes every so often but there are some veteran classics that are quite delicious that I would recommend. Let's start with the appetizer, the chicken wings (pictured above) are a timeless classic that The Hub has put their own spin on. They are served with a quite spicy (and I love spice) sauce on top of classic potato chips with ranch dressing on the side. For the entree, my personal veteran menu item is the ribeye and fries which a grilled ribeye that comes with a side of fries and truffle butter on top of the steak. Come hungry because the ribeye is definitely generously sized. Cannot forget about the dessert and The Hub serves their own in house ice cream. I'm not the biggest ice cream fan but the german chocolate, which is chocolate with walnuts and coconut chunks, is certainly delicious.

Obon

This millennial chic spot is well known for their delicious ramen, sushi, and cocktails. Start off with some classic appetizers such as obon edamame, pork dumplings, or steam buns. Moving on to the entree portion, pictured above is the Obon which comes with pork belly, ground chicken, enoki which is a type of mushroom, black and red garlic oil, and a sixty four degree egg all in a spicy red miso and chicken broth. If ramen isn't what excites you about this spot then try the street noodles, fukushu sushi roll, or the ahi tataki salad. If you are more into the cocktails then be sure to check out the throw back menu that is an ode to the 90s' or their selection of sake.

Diablo Burger

This burger joint prides itself on being local and selling only open-range, anti-biotic free, and hormone free beef. If a burger sounds like it could be in your cards then definitely stop by this local favorite. Burgers are the star of this menu and pictured above is the señor smoke which includes ancho grilled onions, grilled avocado, bacon, cilantro, and sriracha mayo. All burgers come with a side of Belgian-style fries but don't forget the dipping sauce since there are so many to choose from. Options include hatch chili mayo, curry mayo, ranch, chimichurri, db special sauce, or rising hy spicy honey mustard. Another great non-hamburger option is uncle dee's grilled cheese which is three cheeses, chimichurri, grilled tomato, green chilies and an optional fried egg on top of sourdough bread.
