Tucson Restaurant Ideas of the Week - July 8, 2019

Tucson is a plentiful location for excellent Mexican options but it's no secret that sticking to the same spots and eating the same cuisine over and over again can get pretty boring. Whether you're looking for a new spot to adventure to or just want to try something new for a cheat day to your diet, there are many different dining locations for whatever you are into. Here are some ideas for a different experience this week.

Drunken Chicken

This place will always have a special place in my heart because it started my entire endeavor into my food instagram. I took a photo of my personal favorite from the location, the buffalo mac and cheese, which made me think of all of the photos that I've taken of my food. I quickly thought about how these photos deserve to see the light of day and quickly spawned into my food instagram. Enough about me, the buffalo mac and cheese is so delicious with a blend of melted cheeses. Another favorite is 'The Classic' which includes their classic chicken strips with waffles, just don't forget to choose from their wide array of syrups and sauces.

The Buffalo Spot

Located right by the university, this area is definitely worth your cheat day. This spot took over for Cup It Up about a year ago and has been a hit ever since for their buffalo fries which (pictured above) are fries smothered with boneless chicken wing bites with their special drizzled on top. Not in the mood for fries? Wings, chicken tenders, salads, and wraps are all also included on the menu. If you're in the mood for a delicious cheat day meal then make your way towards the university.

Welcome Diner

Need another reason to quit your diet? This cute, diner style restaurant is full of delicious and crave worthy foods that'll leave you saying hello to your cheat day. Pictured above is the 'Koko' which is fried chicken breast nestled between two biscuits topped with arugula, tomato, and slathered with chipotle ranch. A green salad is included on the side which can be substituted for fries. Speaking of fries, the fries are definitely a menu staple with their flavorful twist on the Canadian classic of poutine. The Welcome Diner's Tucson-esque take on poutine includes fries loaded with chorizo gravy and melted cheese on top. If you stop by make sure to check out these two delicious options from their menu as well as all of their sandwiches, chicken and biscuits, burgers, salads, and more.
